Q. What is the Real Estate Masters Program?
A. The RE Masters Program is a series of six 8-hour live lecture courses exclusively for GRI designees who are ready to elevate their real estate knowledge base to the next level through intensive educational training.

Q. Who developed the RE Masters Program?
A. The RE Masters Program was developed by the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION of REALTORS® and Professional Realty Institute. The curriculum determination was based upon responses provided by GRIs from various surveys conducted over a three year period by C.A.R. and the GRInetwork.org.

Q. What are the advantages of taking the RE Masters Program?
A. Knowledge and Networking! By attending the RE Masters Program you will be exposed to a higher lever of education expanding your knowledge on several aspects of the real estate industry. Fellow students you meet while attending the RE Masters Program can become a source for referral networking that you can trust to be dedicated professionals just like you.

Q. Who should take the RE Masters Program?
A. All GRIs should take the RE Masters Program. It is suggested that GRIs have five years of industry experience prior to taking R.E. Masers.

Eligibility
 
Q. Who is eligible to take the RE Masters Program?
A. Only those REALTORS® who have completed all the requirements as set forth by NAR and C.A.R. for the Graduate REALTOR® Institute designation are eligible to attend the RE Masters Program.

Q. What if I do not have a GRI Designation?
A. The GRI Designations is a prerequisite for the RE Masters Program. If you do not have your GRI, please visit www.eDesigntions.com or contact PRI at (888) 785-4800 for information on enrolling in the GRI Program.

Q. What if I received my GRI Designation from a state other than California?
A. The GRI Designation is a national designation and is reciprocal between most states. If you have received a GRI Designation from a state other than California and wish to attend the RE Masters Program in California you will

Q. Can I begin the RE Masters program while I am still completing my GRI designation requirements?
A. Registration for the RE Masters Program is exclusive to GRI graduates, and therefore you must have completed all the GRI requirements and have been awarded the GRI Certificate prior to registering for the RE Masters Progam.

Licensing Renewal Information
 
Q. Will the continuing education credit through the RE Masters Program satisfy the DRE license renewal requirements?
A. Close but not completely; upon completion of all six 8-hour courses students will receive 48-hours of consumer protection credit that may be used toward their DRE license renewal. The DRE also requires licensees to complete either a series of 12-hours of mandated courses (Agency, Ethics, Trust Funds & Fair Housing) or a 6-hour survey course as part of the 45-hour continuing education

Credit Received from RE Masters
 
Q. What kind of credit is available from taking the RE Masters Program?
A. Each RE Masters course provides 8-hours of continuing education credit upon meeting the DRE time requirements and passing an exam after each course. Upon completion of all six 8-hour courses students will receive a transcript showing 32 hours of Consumer Protection credit and 16 hours of Consumer Service credit that may be used toward DRE license renewal. Upon completion of the RE Masters Program students will be awarded a Diploma of Certification for fulfilling the required curriculum of the RE Masters Program.

Q. Do I receive continuing education credit through the RE Masters Program?
A. Yes, each course was DRE approved for 8-hours of continuing education credit. Students completing the RE Masters Program receive 32-hours of Consumer Protection credit and 16 hours of Consumer Service credit upon meeting the DRE time requirement and passing the exam.

Q. Are exams administered in conjunction with the RE Masters courses?
A. Yes, there is a 35 question exam at the end of each day of the RE Masters Program. A grade of 70% or higher is required to pass the exam.

Q. Can any of the RE Masters courses be substituted by similar classes, experience or number of sales?
A. There are no class substitutions permitted for RE Masters courses. The six RE Masters courses are C.A.R. Sponsor #0001 approved and no similar courses offered outside of C.A.R. will be considered as substitution for a RE Masters course.

Q. What time do the RE Masters courses begin?
A. RE Masters courses begin promptly at 8:00 AM each day with check in and registration beginning at 7:30 AM. It is advised that students arrive early to for check in and to network with other attendees over morning coffee.

Q. What are the hours the RE Masters courses are held?
A. All six individual RE Masters courses are held from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM.

Q. What if I am late for class?
A. The time students must be present to receive continuing education credit is dictated by the DRE. The time students must be present in order to receive RE Masters credit is concurrent with the DRE time regulations. Students must be present 90% of the class time in order to receive any credit. Students arriving over 40 minutes late will be turned away and given an opportunity to make up the class at another time or location.

Q. May I take the RE Masters courses at different locations?
A. Absolutely! Students are encouraged to venture out to at least one location outside of their local area to attend a RE Masters course. This opens more avenues for networking opportunities with fellow students from outside your area.

Q. Is there any specific order in which the RE Masters courses must be completed?
A. RE Masters course #203, Tax, Financial and Estate Planning is a prerequisite for RE Masters course #204, Advanced Investment Property Analysis. Students may find it considerably difficult to comprehend the concepts in #204 without gaining a full understanding of the material covered in course #203.

Q. What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule a RE Masters course?
A. In order to cancel a RE Masters course, students must notify PRI a minimum of 72 hours prior to the start of each class. Students meeting the cancellation requirement may either transfer the payment to another RE Masters course, or receive a full refund of the payment amount. Students cancelling later than 72 hours prior to the start of each class, or not showing up the day of class will forfeit the payment for that day of class.

Q. Do I need to bring anything with me to class?
A. Students are urged to bring a real estate calculator with them to the RE Masters course #204, Advanced Investment Property Analysis course. All other days of class students should bring a highlighter and a high capacity for learning!

Q. Do I get a designation upon completing the RE Masters Program?
A. The RE Masters is a Diploma Certification program initiated by the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION of REALTORS® and upon completion graduates will receive a Diploma suitable for framing. At this time there is not a national designation associated with the RE Masters Program.

Q. What happens if I do not pass an exam?
A. Students who do not meet the minimum passing grade of 70% for RE Masters courses are given a second opportunity to pass the class by sitting for a proctored a re-take exam at their Local Association of REALTORS®.

Q. How long do I have to complete the RE Masters Program?
A. GRIs enrolled in the RE Masters Program have 24 months from the date of the first day they attend a course to complete the full series.

A. There are other states that have advanced graduate programs. Each state dictates their own curriculum and course content, and therefore the courses are not transferable.

A. The RE Masters Program is strictly a live lecture, in the classroom presentation series, and no part of the program is offered online.

A. Please allow eight weeks from the date you complete the last class in the RE Masters Program to receive your Diploma.
